I’m slowly getting back on track after taking an extended holiday last week and then catching a cold this week. Needless to say, I’m pretty happy that it’s Friday, and I have a whole bunch of fun stuff to share, so let’s get to it.

  • Hackerbuddy has relaunched with a bunch of improvements and some new features. Full details in this article.

  • Doom 3 was open sourced and there’s already instructions on how to build it on a Mac using Xcode.

  • Google Code Search is getting shut down on Jan. 15, 2012. Miguel de Icaza compares alternatives.

  • Users of the beautiful Protovis visualization library that are making the switch to D3 (its replacement) might want to take a look at Luke Francl’s D3 for Mere Mortals.

  • Have you seen the new web API gateway from eBay that they’re calling ql.io? Apparently it uses a SQL-like syntax and allows you to communicate with multiple web APIs in the same call. Oh, and it’s not just for eBay APIs.

  • I must absolutely make myself a Jabba the Cupcake (via Boing Boing).

  • I’m a mechanical pencil nerd and the Kuru Toga is a must have.

Have a great weekend!
